drawin' time

While my husband was playing COD and "watching" the baby, I ran off to draw and do a little photoshopin' for color. Here's what I came up with. :)

Mermaid

Here is a quick photoshop drawing I did tonight. I tried to be as quick and loose as possible per the advice of a good friend. Trying not to be such a clean up freak... ha ha!

I'm also pretty bummed that I had to change my blog name. I haven't been on here for a while and to my dismay, I had a post asking me to change my blog name or have a lawyer sent after me. I didn't realize I was such a threat to an online make -your -own -card company that just trademarked "Sweet Pea Designs" this year. Well, next time I will make sure I TM the name myself.... my bad.

School Uniform

Here is a painting I did last night after being very inspired by "The Art and Flair of Mary Blair" and by my friend Roque. This is the first painting I've done without sketching it out first in pencil. I learned in this painting to stop noodling things, sometimes its just best to let the little things go. I went back in to "fix"' her blush and then it ended up being too much and I liked it better before I messed with it. Oh well, lesson learned. :)

I have had some time during this long break to get some creative stuff done that I have been wanting to make.

Who... who...

Hi all! Yet again, it has been a while since I have posted anything, but I'm doing a lot more than last year. My friend Corrine loves owls, so I made her a stuffed owl for her birthday, and I made one for my daughter as well. I will post a pic of those soon. But for now, I have one painting and one drawing that I did while I was in owl mode. The painting is gouache, which I haven't used forever, and the other was just crayons and the cardboard insert from a calendar I bought. Painting was fun but much harder than I remember! Hopefully I'll make some more time for painting. Cheers!
